SXSW 2007
ML is not cool enough to have a sxsw showcase. or something.
but! doesn't mean there's not music related, related things to check out.
first of coarse. Luminous Orange is making their way to austin to rock you.
they are playing on friday, march 16th, at the Ale House. 9pm.
check out this here interview too.
also, friends of the ML faimly.. Kiiiiiii will be making their US live debut@ SXSW, then kicking of on a small tour.
both of these groups bring pretty much unmatched energy to the stage. i think it would worth checking out if you are close by, and like.. loud music (luminous orange).. or crazy ass shit.. (kiiiiiii)

recommended 02.15.07
i was putting together some recommended CDs. to find that 2 of them are from the same label. hmmm..
Daisuke Miyatani "Diario" ("edanone" mp3)
Yuichiro Fujimoto "The Mountain Record" ("open window (for piano)" mp3)
Mono & World's End Girlfriend "Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain"
both Diasuke's and Yuichiro's Cds are from the german label ahornfelder. (apparently a new fav?)
Mono & World's End Girlfriend's CD is from ny's (brooklyn) own temporary residence.

i'm wondering
why my portable tape machine is so cool... yet so useless.
but beyond that. i've had this week off, and have spent to much time reading music blogs. i hate to complain. (though not enough, cause here i am) and obviously, people are going to take it the wrong way. what with me running a label n' all. but lets just try and pretend i don't. is it just me, or are music blogs just shillin' anymore? when was the last time you went to a music blog, or review site, and didn't already know everything that was on there? you may have not heard it. (probably for good reason). but you know of the people being reviewed, or in the "news" (though are tour date and album release announcements really news?)
anyways. just wondering. is it just me? i can't think of the last time i found good new music from a blog or website. normally i just listen to my friends, or people from dotshop or p*dis to find good stuff. or am i just to old, and don't get it?
